How to NOT get Scammed on Your Prom Dress

Tip #1 - Buy Local

What you see is what you get. If you have the dress in hand, you know you’re not getting scammed.

Tip #2 - Look for a phone number

No published phone number is a HUGE red flag. Many companies will only have customer service emails, only to never respond about issues, leaving you stuck with a scammy dress.

Tip #3 - Price Should Match the Picture

Scam companies steal pictures from real prom designers and post them as their own, so if the price looks too good to be true, it probably is.

Tip #4 - Check the delivery window

A super wide delivery window is another big red flag. If the dress is coming from outside the US (aka scamming from China), they don’t know how long the dress will be stuck in customs, so they quote you a very wide delivery window, and then the dress never shows up.
